Single-family house extension

In the Arturo Soria neighborhood, atop an existing single-family home, a subtle extension gives life to a small family music room—a space where music becomes a language, a bond connecting all who dwell within. The design transforms a long-forgotten open terrace into a vibrant, inhabitable space, where glass frames and dissolves the boundary between interior and the distant Madrid skyline.

A delicate metal frame, crafted from 80.80.4 structural tubes, rests lightly on concrete pads, making measured contact with the existing floor slab. From these precise points emerges a collaborating metal plate, stretching across the horizontal plane, partially elevated to command the surrounding view and create a quiet dialogue with the city beyond.

The glass façade opens the room to the horizon, merging music and landscape. A slightly raised platform defines the intimate domestic stage, where gatherings with friends become rituals of creation and wonder—moments suspended in the vast, horizontal expanse of Madrid.
