The Dollgast pavilion at EPFL showcases the work developed by the students, in which the assembled trilith joint—formed by a column and a double beam—defines the entire architectural piece.

This itinerant pavilion is the result of the work carried out by the second-semester students of the ‘Linazasoro & Sánchez’ studio. It is an architectural object resolved through a very simple constructive solution that makes it possible to explore the itinerant nature of the pavilion itself, which will travel to the universities of Mendrisio, Bari, and Munich. Following the teachings of Hans Döllgast, the pavilion is conceived through the assembled trilith joint—composed of a column and a double beam—which defines the entire architectural object. From this premise, an L-shaped configuration is created using OSB panels screwed to the wooden structure and a burlap fabric that unifies the pavilion on the exterior side, generating an interior corridor that helps create an atmosphere in which the students’ work blends with the pavilion and conveys the message developed during the second semester of the course.
